You are welcome here!

No matter who you are or where you are from you are welcome here! You matter to God and you matter to us.

We are a community of real people who don’t have it all together, but who believe there is a God who points the way to an authentic, full and abundant life.

We are a church for anyone who wants to take a step forward in the adventure of faith, whether you are not yet sure if God exists or have been following Jesus for a lifetime.

So, if you’re new to church, looking for a church home, or want to know more about returning to faith in Jesus, we’re here for you.

Join us for any (or all) of our services at 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, or 6:00 PM each Sunday. You can attend a service in person at the church or watch a service live-streamed on YouTube.

Can my children join?

If you have children, they are welcome at any of our services!
Our fun and safe Yorkie Kids program runs during our 11AM service. You can check in at our Yorkie Kids table in the foyer. We will ask you for the following personal information:

Your child’s name, address, date of birth, school year level and any special instructions for your child (eg. allergies, special needs etc). We will also ask for parent/guardian names, contact phone and email.

The kids start with us all in our main service, and then go out to their special program from there.

All volunteers involved in Yorkie Kids have been appointed through our safe church policy.

Can I attend if ____________?

For the safety of all people attending our services, we ask that you stay at home if you are sick. Be sure to watch the live stream instead! Please visit the Services page for more information on restrictions.

However, for everything else, the answer is yes absolutely! Everyone is welcome at York Street. As a safe place, every colour, every shape, every personality and people with every kind of story imaginable are welcome here.

What do I wear?
We care about you not what you are wearing…some dress up and some come in casual attire. We invite you to come just as you are. What matters is that you are here.
What happens after the service?
You might like to allow yourself a few extra minutes after the service to have a cuppa and chat. You are a very important person to us! We’d love to meet you and answer any questions you may have. So please let us know it’s your first time here!
Church Service Times

There are three services each Sunday:

  • 9 AM – A more traditional style of music.
  • 11 AM – Meaningful contemporary worship.
  • 6 PM – Focus on youth & young adults and going deeper

Our services include practical teaching that connects the words of the Bible to everyday life and music that is lively and engaging. Communion and prayer are also included in most services. Our services are usually about 75-90 mins in length.

For more information about our services, please visit the Services page.

Welcome Team

You’ll be greeted by our friendly welcome team. If you have any questions they will be happy to help. Look for the people wearing the bright orange K-Team lanyards.

We have easy off-street parking. There is a guest park waiting for you in our car park off York Street. Additional parking is off Joseph Street at the rear of the building.

I need to talk to someone

If you need to talk to someone after the service, look for a member of the K-Team wearing the orange lanyards. Alternatively, you can contact us during the week.

Can I watch or listen to previous sermons?

You can find sermons from March 2020 on the Sermons page or visit the archive of sermons for earlier messages.

“My life has completely changed for the better since coming to York Street. I don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for the love shown to me through the people here”.

“I came to York Street shortly after a number of years away from church. York Street has been a safe and supportive environment to develop and grow in my faith”.

“York Street is a church where all members of the family can grow. Our 10 year old loves Yorkie Kids during the 10.30am service. Our two teenagers can’t wait for Converge Youth on Friday nights. And our 20 year old is involved with a young adult Bible study group and 6pm service”.

“I have lots of reasons to call Yorkie home. My parents were married here. My wife and I were married here too. 75% of my grandparents had their funerals here as well! At one stage, our family had 4 generations worshipping together. We value our historical connection, but we stay for the fellowship and teaching”
